music will forever be a universal means of expression.  there may, though, only be a handful of songs that will truly strike a chord with my heart and etherealize into my soul.  one of these songs is basia bulat’s original piece, the shore.  how i stumbled upon this artist on the internet is beyond me, but the song strengthens my resolve to live well and to just simply live.  the lyrics seem reminiscent of a relationship that is unknown to the listener, but in many ways, the emotions can be felt by her intonation and voice.  how she plays the hammer dulcimer is exquisite.  it must also be said that this song is the inspiration for my wordpress username: smokeyharbor [update: no longer in use].
